Historic train
In 1883, when Georges Nagelmackers, the founder of Compagnie des
Wagons-Lits, designed the first train capable of crossing Europe,
he inaugurated a new form of travel. The Pullman Orient Express was
decorated by great artists such as René Prou, Paul Nelson and
René Lalique and boasted the most celebrated names of the age
among its patrons.
Travel outside time
Today, Compagnie des Wagons-Lits has preserved this heritage and
put the Pullman Orient Express back on the tracks. The carriages,
now classified as "Historic Monuments", have been completely
restored, with all the famous comfort prized for over a century. The
furniture, the china and staff uniforms based on sketches from the
period, offer new adornment for the most prestigious of the Grand
Express trains.
Catering
The Table du Pullman Orient Express alone is an invitation to adventure
for food-lovers, offering Le nôtre refined creations accompanied
by celebrated vintages, in the finest tradition of French gastronomy.
