ADEME (French Environmental and Energy Agency)
The ADEME is a public institution acting with individuals, businesses and local communities in the following sectors: energy, air and noise, waste and soils, and the environmental management of sites and products.
The ADEME has a fourfold mission to:
- encourage research and innovation;
- increase public awareness about the issues it handles;
- advise socio-economic players;
- provide financial assistance for the execution of projects.
In 2005, Accor signed a partnership with the ADEME for France, based on 6 issues: the development of renewable energies, energy control, waste prevention and management, international cooperation, awareness, and eco-design. The top project is currently to set up "100 solar hotels".
Agrisud is an NGO with expertise in sustainable economic growth. The goal of the association is to support sustainable economic activities so that local populations in developing countries, with whom the association works, develop economic and social autonomy.

Accor and Agrisud entered into a partnership in 2004 to support the development of very small local market garden businesses and the creation of outlets for their products.

Founded in 1948, the IUCN is the oldest and largest world environmental network, bringing together governments, NGOs and nearly 10,000 scientists in more than 180 countries.
Its mission is to protect biodiversity in the world through its expert work and influence. For example, it has helped over 75 countries to set up national conservation and biological diversity strategies.
Accor partnered with the IUCN in 2008 to draft the guide "Biodiversity: My hotel in action," which is designed to present hotel managers with specific possibilities for action in order to protect biodiversity.
Kinomé is a company that specializes in durably giving more value to forests. Using an approach that is both scientific and economic, which brings together businesses and local communities, Kinomé develops innovative, profitable and ethical solutions for forest recovery which provide answers to the problems of our time and lead to specific reforestation or deforestation prevention programs.
The projects on which Kinomé works are intended to create value for everyone: for businesses, through the creation of an innovative product that differentiates them from their competitors; for local communities, by leaving them with a larger portion of the added value; and for society, by sustainably preserving the environment and the quality of life.
Kinomé has been contracted by Accor for its Plant for the Planet project to assist in and audit 7 reforestation projects supported by the Group around the world.
UNEP (United Nations Environment Program)
Created in 1972, the UNEP coordinates the environmental activities of the United Nations. Since 2006, it has been leading a major international reforestation program designed to encourage governments, businesses and citizens to plant 7 billion trees around the world by the end of 2009.
This initiative, known as "Plant for the Planet: The Campaign for a billion trees" was inspired by 2004 Nobel Prize Laureate Professor Wangari Maathai.
Accor has become a partner with the UNEP to conduct its own version of the Plant for the Planet project to plant 3 million trees by 2012.
