A new address in China: the Sofitel Dongguan Humen Oriental
Sofitel is continuing its development in China with the opening of the Sofitel Dongguan Humen Oriental. The hotel rounds out a relatively restricted offer in luxury in a city undergoing rapid expansion.
The tower stands above the Huang He Commercial Plaza dedicated to fashion with upper podium floors housing the Prince Platinum restaurant, spas and other exclusive tenants.
Prestigious corporate offices and luxury apartments will occupy the lower floors, with the hotel’s guest rooms beginning on the 29th floor. High-speed lifts escort guests from the lobby to the 62nd floor where they will be introduced to panoramic views of Dongguan while checking in.
Cheng Chung Design
The Sofitel Dongguan Humen Oriental features 409 rooms and suites created by the renowned Hong Kong firm Cheng Chung Design (CCD). The spacious rooms, offering at least 55 m², are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, freestanding bathtubs and separate showers, connectivity and Sofitel’s “MyBed” concept of all feather beds and extra light down duvets.
Dining pleasure
The Polaris Lounge is located on the top floor, with a spactacular view of the city. The dining facilities also include an atrium tea and coffee lounge, a poolside bar, Cantonese and Japanese restaurants and western dining with a view on the 61st floor.
For business
Conference and incentive groups will enjoy InspiredMeetings in the MICE facility with over 2,600 square metres of meeting space, including a grand ballroom accommodating up to 1,000 guests, multi-function meeting rooms and several intimate venues for receptions.
Relaxation
Recreational facilities include SoFIT, the fitness centre with cardio and weight training, yoga studio, dry sauna and steam room. The indoor swimming pool sits in a glass house overlooking the relaxation garden. Outdoor Jacuzzi and tennis complete the picture, all serviced by the poolside bar “Eau”.
Sofitel in China
The Sofitel Dongguan Humen Oriental marks the 23rd Sofitel in Greater China and will be followed this autumn by the opening of the Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich. Sofitel Luxury Hotels are found in China’s most important commercial and resort destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi’an and Hangzhou, making Sofitel one of country’s largest networks of luxury hotels.
